EGR Awards 2011

Karen and I took a break from FreeBingo yesterday and headed to London to attend the annual E-Gaming Review Operator Awards.

We were there to support our former CM George, who now works on WhichBingo.co.uk, as his site was nominated for two awards.

It was a proper posh do, so I had to hire myself a penguin suit for the day. Karen jumped at the opportunity to get dressed up, as all girls do!

There was a champagne reception followed by a three course meal, and then the awards themselves which were hosted by comedian Rufus Hound. He was absolutely fantastic and poked fun at the casino and bingo operators throughout the night, telling them not to bother with acceptance speeches as no-one gives a shit that you’ve won, so get off stage. lol.

After what seemed like hundreds of awards, we got to the one WhichBingo had been nominated for, ‘Best Gaming Review Site’. When WhichBingo was announced as the winner, our table went crazy, whooping and hollering as Phil Fraser went up to collect the award.

After the awards we had a little go on the dodgems, and enjoyed the free drinks as we mingled and had a good chat with people from around the industry, including WonderBingo, Tombola, PaddyPower, Foxy Bingo, JackpotJoy and too many others to mention.

Now we are back a little worse for wear but thankful for a great time and a great win. Maybe next year we’ll get FreeBingo nominated for an award and Karen and I will be up on stage taking the plaudits! Until then, we’ll just bask in the collective glory of the WhichBingo team.
