What is RSS?RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. RSS news feeds allow you to get up to the minute news and information from FreeBingo as soon as it is added to the site! Once you've subscribed to our RSS bingo news feed your browser or RSS reader will periodically check FreeBingo for the the latest bingo headlines and show you any new stories that have been added since the last time it checked. How do I subscribe to Free Bingo RSS news?In most modern browsers (IE7, Firefox, Opera, Safari etc) an RSS icon will light up when you visit a page that contains RSS content. In Internet Explorer the icon appears adjacent to the tabs bar (Fig. 1). In Firefox it appears in the address bar (Fig. 2). Subscribing to a bingo RSS feed can be as simple as clicking on the icon and selecting subscribe. Your browser will usually give you complete instructions on how to subscribe and set your rss preferences.
What if I don't have an RSS capable browser?You can either download the latest version of your preferred browser or alternatively, you can use an RSS feed reader application. These applications are sometimes also called RSS aggregators. There are many available for purchase and some very good readers are also available for free. A few are listed below but many other RSS readers are available. Try using your favourate search engine to find 'RSS reader' or 'RSS aggregator'. How to use RSS in Internet Explorer 7When you visit a page that has an RSS feed an RSS icon will light up. This icon appears adjacent to the tabs bar. (Fig. 3 below)
Click on the RSS icon to view all the feeds that are attached to that page. Then click the "Subscribe to this feed" button (Fig. 4).
A dialog box will appear that allows you to organise your Feeds in much the same manner as you do with your Bookmarks. Click the Subscribe button (Fig. 5).
Congratulations, you've subscribed to your first RSS news feed. How to view an RSS feed in Internet Explorer 7Once you've subscribed to our Free Bingo RSS news feed you can view it using your Internet Explorer Favorites Center. Click on the Favorites Icon or press Alt+C (Fig. 6). Then click on the link for FreeBingo.co.uk News.
